The Carolina Panthers have selected TE Tommy Tremble with the No. 83 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Impact:
Carolina was among the lowest-ranked teams to utilize their tight ends in the passing game in 2020, which they have addressed in free agency and through the draft by selecting Tommy Tremble out of Notre Dame. Tremble is a tremendous blocker and can operate as an H-back, introducing a unique element for Panthers' offensive coordinator Joe Brady to tap into. Christian McCaffery and Sam Darnold will both benefit from having a 6'4, 250-pound blocking tight end with enough athleticism to play the in-line position. Tremble only caught 19 receptions for 238 yards with Notre Dame in 2020, indicating that his role shouldn't eat too much into free-agent tight end signee Dan Arnold's target share in 2021.
