D'Andre Swift looks to be getting over his groin injury, is moving well at practice and is expected to be ready for Week 1. He continues to show well catching the ball in 1-on-1's. (Chris Burke on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

The Detroit coaching staff has been very careful with Swift this offseason, which is a great sign for fantasy managers. It ensures he'll likely be 100% healthy when the season starts and it shows the coaching staff recognizes how important he is to their offense. The former Bulldog is one of the few offensive playmakers they have on this roster. Expect the coaching staff to get Swift into space to allow him to make plays, in a similar way Los Angeles uses Austin Ekeler and how New Orleans uses Alvin Kamara. With minimal talent at receiver and Jared Goff's immobility, Swift is expected to be heavily used in the passing game. In full-PPR scoring, Swift has top-12 upside because of his likely heavy role in the passing game. His value drops a touch in half-PPR and even further in standard. However, fantasy managers should expect the Detroit offense to run through the second-year breakout candidate. With his expected volume and role in the passing game, Swift looks like a solid RB2 this season with upside in any PPR settings.
