Zach Ertz traded to the Arizona Cardinals

by Brad Camara | Commanders Correspondent | Fri, Oct 15th 11:10am EDT

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Philadelphia Eagles have traded tight end Zach Ertz to the Arizona Cardinals for defensive back Tay Gowan and a 2022nd fifth-round pick. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Ertz and the Eagles were unable to agree on a contract extension since the offseason, and he was ultimately traded to the Cardinals on Friday. He caught 4-of-6 targets for 29 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 28-22 Week 6 loss to the Buccaneers. Per the NFL rules, Ertz is not allowed to play again this week and is out for Sunday’s game against the Browns. The Cardinals lost starting TE Maxx Williams (knee) with a season-ending knee injury and acquired Ertz to become the team’s primary tight end. The former Philadelphia Eagle will make his debut with Arizona in Week 7 against the Houston Texans. Dallas Goedert becomes the Eagles' top-pass catching tight end and should see an uptick in target share once activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
