Ryan Fitzpatrick (hip) not expected to return this season

by Mike Maher | Sun, Nov 14th 7:15am EST

Washington quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who has been on injured reserve since suffering a hip subluxation in Week 1, has "too long of a road back" and is unlikely to return this season, according to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport. (Ian Rapoport, NFL.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Fitzpatrick is reportedly still dealing with swelling and pain in the hip and groin area and has been focused on treatment rather than rehab over the last several weeks. He has another MRI scheduled in a few weeks to check his progress, and it's possible at that point that he is cleared to begin working out. However, based on his current status, the belief is that he will not return to the field for Washington this season. Taylor Heinicke, who has thrown for 1,928 yards with 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions through eight games, is expected to remain the starter, while Kyle Allen will serve as the primary backup.
