Jimmy Garoppolo throws for a pair of scores in OT win

by Jon Mathisen | Rams Correspondent | Sun, Dec 12th 8:06pm EST

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo completed 27-of-41 passes for 296 yards and two touchdowns in a 26-23 overtime win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact:

Garoppolo and the 49ers were in control for most of this game but were unable to put the Bengals away during regulation as Cincinnati staged a late comeback to force OT. Garoppolo found his favorite target, George Kittle, for a 17-yard score before time ran out in the second quarter, giving San Francisco a 17-6 lead. He was unable to get much going in the second half, leading the 49ers to just three points in the third and fourth quarters. He did stage a clutch seven-play, 75-yard drive in the final minutes of the extra period and found Brandon Aiyuk for the game-winning score. His 41 pass attempts were a season-high. While Garoppolo hasn't lit the world on fire, he's done just enough to keep the 49ers firmly in the playoff race. He gets a tasty matchup next week against the Falcons at home.
