Julius Chestnut leads Titans backfield in loss to Baltimore Thursday

Julius Chestnut finished with seven carries for 48 rushing yards and caught his only target for an additional 12 yards in Tennessee’s 23-10 loss in Baltimore on Thursday night.

Fantasy Impact:

Julius Chestnut, the undrafted rookie out of Sacred Heart, remains a long shot to make the Titans’ roster but made the most of his carries on Thursday night in Baltimore. Chestnut did fumble on the first play of the Titans’ second drive of the game and did not see the field on the Titans’ next possession. Chestnut bounced back to gain 51 yards on his remaining six touches and showcased the ability that has stood out in training camp. Chesnut’s night was highlighted by a 29-yard scamper on his very next carry following his early fumble. Titans head coach Mike Vrabel was reportedly “pleased with how well [Chestnut] bounced back” from his 1st quarter fumble. His head coach’s comments notwithstanding, Chestnut must show better ball security if he wants to make the Titans’ regular season roster. At a minimum, the rookie can use Thursday’s showcase as game film to catch on with another team.
