Joseph Randle has huge first half
by John Muguerza | Mon, Sep 28th 11:47am EDT
In the first half Joseph Randle ran all over the Atlanta Defense putting together a stat line of 10 carries for 92 yards and three TDs. However, in the second half Atlanta was able to shut down the run. Randle finished the game with only 14 carries for 87 yards and three TDs. It's probably the most disappointing game one can have after such a hot start. (Dallascowboys.com)
Fantasy Impact:
It was a tell of two half's for not only Joseph Randle, but the entire Dallas Cowboys team. After totaling 85 yards on his first three carries, Randle had 11 more carries but could only manage a total of two yards. With WR Dez Bryant and QB Tony Romo both out due to injuries, Atlanta went all out to stop the run and force backup QB Brandon Weeden to beat them. To say the least it's probably a strategy that every team will put into play against the Cowboys until either Bryant or Romo return from injury. Randle still holds value in most formats since he is the starting RB for the leagues best offensive line, but until Randle see's more work and becomes more consistent with his carries, he caps his season long upside to the RB2 range. Depending on your roster Randle may be a must start in Week 4, as the Cowboys will travel to New Orelans and take on a struggling Saints D/ST which ranks 26th against the run.
