Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. will not play in the team's preseason opener on Friday, Aug. 8, against the Detroit Lions. (Cameron Wolfe on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
After becoming the starter late last season, Penix showed off his arm and aggression, elevating wide receiver Drake London into a fantasy threat. While many anticipate the Indiana/Washington product's sophomore season, he will not play in the Falcons' first preseason game. Veteran quarterback Easton Stick is expected to be involved in the opener.
