Los Angeles Chargers running back Najee Harris is 'on track' and hopeful to play in Week 1 despite being sidelined with a fireworks-related eye injury, says general manager Joe Hortiz. (Kris Rhim on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Harris had suffered an eye injury on July 4 and has not fully returned yet. While the reports and comments about his status have generally been cryptic and vague, the team's GM seemed to express optimism that he could be ready for the opener. It's still unclear what role he will have or how much he will play, especially after being sidelined for training camp and the preseason, but he missed out on a key opportunity to fend off rookie first-rounder Omarion Hampton from seizing RB1 reps.
