The Houston Texans are not elevating running back Joe Mixon from the non-football injury (NFI) list ahead of the start of the season. He will miss at least the first four games. (Houston Texans on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Mixon has been dealing with a bit of a mysterious foot injury; there have been very few details about the nature and severity of his injury, and reports have been conflicting. The drumbeat seemed to indicate he would not be ready for Week 1, and with him starting the season on the NFI, he will not be eligible to return to practice or games until after the team's fourth game. The starting job will likely come between Nick Chubb and Dameon Pierce, with rookie Woody Marks and Dare Ogunbowale potentially getting passing-down work.
