Washington Commanders running back Austin Ekeler is believed to have torn his Achilles tendon on Thursday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers in Week 2. (Adam Schefter on Twtter)
Fantasy Impact:
Ekeler left Thursday's game early after carrying the ball eight times for 17 yards and catching a pair of passes for seven yards. The veteran running back turned 30 years old in May and has 1,551 career touches in nine seasons. If he tore his Achilles, his season would be over, and it would heavily impact 2026 as well. Bill Croskey-Merritt is a straightforward replacement, though Jeremy McNichols will continue to make an impact on passing-downs, and Chris Rodriguez Jr. will be active and could factor in during short-yardage and goal-line situations.
