Derek Carr would consider coming out of retirement

by David Leisering | Sat, Feb 14th 10:04pm EST

Former NFL quarterback Derek Carr has confirmed that he would consider coming out of retirement. He stated in his Home Grown podcast that he "would have to be healthy" and "would want a chance to win a Super Bowl." (Pro Football Rumors on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Carr, who will turn in 35 in March, last played in the NFL in 2024 when he made 10 starts for the New Orleans Saints. The 11-year NFL veteran and four-time Pro-Bowl selection, played nine seasons for the Raiders and two for the Saints, combining to throw for 41,245 yards and 257 touchdowns. It's safe to assume that quarterback-hungry teams (Browns, Jets, Raiders) could see if there is interest. Other teams like the Vikings, Steelers, Dolphins, Colts, Falcons, and Cardinals could have potential openings, but aren't necessarily Super Bowl contenders either. But, it appears that the option is on the table and Carr could pull a Philip Rivers and return to the NFL in 2026 at some point.
