The Minnesota Vikings have waived RB Abram Smith.

Smith entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2022 with the Saints, before being waived and joining on with the DC Defenders of the XFL. Smith was brought in to compete for a depth role at running back, but the Vikings ultimately decided to move on. The 24-year-old will look to join another team or possibly return to the XFL.

After and efficient NFL debut, Abram was everything but in his second NFL game. With a very crowded backfield, lack of efficiency and a fumble in the first preseason game things aren't looking promising for the rookie.
