TE - MIA
Week 13 Outlook
Dolphins TE Adam Shaheen caught a seven-yard touchdown in Week 12 against the Jets.
This was Shaheen's third score of the season. He has topped 20 receiving yards just once this year, however, which keeps him off the fantasy radar in leagues of all sizes.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that The Miami Dolphins have signed TE Adam Shaheen to a two-year contract extension.
The contract has a max value of $7.85M and includes $3.2M guaranteed. Shaheen has never lived up to expectations after being drafted in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. He has never caught more than 12 passes in a single season. Shaheen is coming off of his best game of the year in which he recorded 3 catches for 51 yards and a TD against the Jets. He should not be rostered at this time.
Dolphins' TE Adam Shaheen hauled in all three of his targets for 51 yards and a touchdown in a 24-0 blowout win over the Jets.
Shaheen has now scored a touchdown in back-to-back games and outpaced starting TE Mike Gesicki in targets on Sunday. Shaheen is widely available in fantasy leagues and is a solid TE2 streaming option moving forward.
The Dolphins have acquired TE Adam Shaheen from the Bears for a conditional 2021st sixth-round pick.
Shaheen was drafted by the Bears in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. The Bears have a plethora of tight ends and have decided to move on from Shaheen. The 25-year-old hauled in 26 receptions for 249 yards and four touchdowns across 27 games in three seasons for the Bears. Shaheen will compete for a backup tight end spot behind starter Mike Gesicki.
