Adam Trautman
TE - DEN
Adam Trautman caught 0-of-2 targets in Denver’s 70-20 loss to the Dolphins.
Fantasy Impact
Trautman has now failed to record a catch on his last three targets, spanning the last two games. The Broncos’ offense continues to struggle and Trautman does not appear to be a focal point in the passing game so far. Fantasy managers can drop the 26-year-old and look for another option.
Adam Trautman, the 26-year-old tight end for the Denver Broncos, had a forgettable Week 2 performance against the Washington Commanders.
Fantasy Impact
Trautman failed to reel in any receptions despite being targeted once, leaving him with a goose egg in the receiving yards and touchdowns columns. This lackluster performance contributed to the Broncos' narrow 35-33 loss. So far this season, Trautman has been targeted six times, securing five receptions for 34 yards, but he's still searching for his first touchdown. Currently ranked as TE48 for the week and TE33 for the season, Trautman will need to step up his game when the Broncos face the Miami Dolphins next week. His single target in Week 2 came late in the 4th quarter. Fantasy managers will be hoping for a more impactful performance in Week 3.
Adam Trautman hauled in all five of his targets for 34 yards against the Raiders in Week 1. Denver ultimately fell to Las Vegas by a score of 17-16.
Fantasy Impact
The Broncos were aggressive in their pursuit of Trautman this offseason, acquiring him from head coach Sean Payton's former team, the Saints. Payton coached Trautman in New Orleans and wasted no time getting him involved during his Saints debut. For now, it looks like Trautman sits atop the depth chart while Greg Dulcich is the No. 2 tight end.
Former Saints TE Adam Trautman started at TE for the Denver Broncos in the first week of the preseason.
Fantasy Impact
Trautman saw the bulk of the action on early downs Friday night, playing alongside TE Greg Dulcich in two-TE sets. Trautman played under head coach Sean Payton in New Orleans and is familiar with the coach. He has 60 catches in three seasons but will provide value as a solid TE when on the field, even if he’s not the receiver Dulcich is.
Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton said that TE Adam Trautman, who was listed as the TE1 on the team’s first unofficial depth chart, earned the edge for his run blocking, though multiple TEs will play in the system.
Fantasy Impact
Trautman was drafted by Payton and the New Orleans Saints in 2020, playing three seasons and catching 60 passes for 641 yards and four scores. He signed with the Broncos in the offseason and was listed ahead of second-year TE Greg Dulcich on the unofficial preliminary depth chart. Payton said that Dulcich and Trautman could be more of a TE1A and TE1B, though, so they may see plenty of action together. Dulcich, who is a more skilled pass-catcher, may play more of a role as a receiving TE, totaling 411 yards in 10 games as a rookie, while Trautman plays a more all-around role. Denver’s starters are expected to play in the preseason, so it will be a good opportunity to see how they utilize their TEs.
