The Houston Texans are signing veteran S Adrian Amos, who was released by the New York Jets on Saturday.

Amos is a veteran at defensive back, logging 125 career starts in his nine NFL seasons. He only started three of New York's 11 games and was seeing less time on defense and more time on special teams. At the age of 30, Amos can come in to provide a veteran mindset on defense and provide depth alongside S Jimmie Ward and Deandre Houston-Carson.

Amos will provide a veteran presence in the secondary for the Jets. There was talk of him returning to Green Bay or heading to Baltimore, but he'll instead join the Jets defense as they look to build off a strong 2022 season.

The move doesn't come at much of a surprise as star lineman Za'Darius Smith is headed to free agency. With the cap going down and the Packers being up against it, the move will likely help the team retain the star lineman.
