Rosas was arrested Monday for allegedly driving with a suspended license, hitting a car and fleeing the scene. According to police reports, the 25-year-old was going 100 MPH and driving erratically around 8:00 AM in Chico, California. “The Giants are aware of the situation and have been in contact with Aldrick,” per Jordan Raanan of ESPN. The team has no further comment at this time. Rosas made the pro bowl in 2018 and is currently 22nd among all kickers in latest expert consensus rankings. It is unclear at this time if Rosas will face any type of punishment from the league. Rosas signed a tender with the Giants this off-season. He converted 12-of-17 field goal attempts across 16 games in 2019. If found guilty, the Giants could possibly move on from Rosas all together.
Giants kicker Aldrick Rosas has signed his second-round restricted free agent tender and will make close to $3.3M in 2020.
Rosas only made 12 of his 17 attempted field goals in 2019, in what was a dismal year for the Giants offense. The Giants offense, with a full year of QB Daniel Jones, should hopefully see a drastic improvement from last season, subsequently boosting Rosas’ production and value. Hopefully we see the 2018 version of him, where he went a ridiculous 32 of 33 on field goal attempts.
Giants kicker Aldrick Rosas made his only field goal attempt and both of his extra point tries in Sunday's Week 17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Rosas had a rocky year and finished the season 12-for-17 on field goal attempts and 35-for-39 on extra point tries.
