Alijah Vera-Tucker (triceps) will miss rest of season

According to the New York Post’s Brian Costello, OL Alijah Vera-Tucker will miss the rest of his sophomore season with a triceps injury.

Fantasy Impact

Big blow for the New York Jets losing both Vera-Tucker and RB Breece Hall in the same week. The former first-rounder had started all seven games for the Jets, and now the Jets will be without Vera-Tucker and OL Mekhi Becton, Max Mitchell and George Fant. The Jets are still 5-2, but the injuries to the young talent, especially on the offensive line, make it harder down the stretch, especially for a still-developing QB in Zach Wilson.

Alijah Vera-Tucker signs rookie contract

14th overall pick, OG Alijah Vera-Tucker, signs his rookie contract with the New York Jets.

Fantasy Impact

The Jets traded up to draft Vera-Tucker, marking the second straight year the team has drafted an offensive lineman in the first round. He will slot into the LG position beside last year's first-round pick, LT Mekhi Becton. Vera-Tucker is a powerful lineman with light feet who matches perfectly in the Jets new Shanahan-inspired blocking scheme. The Jets offensive line will be significantly improved this season with the additions of Vera-Tucker and RT Morgan Moses.

Alijah Vera-Tucker selected No. 14 by New York Jets

The New York Jets have selected offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Fantasy Impact

The Jets gave up the 23rd, 66th, and 86th overall picks to acquire the 14th and 143rd overall picks. They landed themselves a versatile offensive lineman to add to what should be a much improved offensive line. Vera-Tucker should start immediately at left guard but has the tools and tape to eventually be moved to the outside. He has Pro Bowl upside.
