This Week Outlook
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Anthony McFarland Jr. carried the ball five times for 17 yards in a 24-22 loss to Cleveland in Week 17.
McFarland got a few carries as a change-of-pace option behind James Conner and Benny Snell. The rookie remains a solid stash in dynasty leagues as his role could grow in 2021 if Pittsburgh doesn't re-sign Conner in the offseason.
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Anthony McFarland Jr. gained five yards on his one carry and added a nine-yard reception in a 27-17 loss to the Bengals in Week 15.
McFarland saw just the two touches, despite James Conner being inactive with a quad injury. The rookie running back has long-term potential in dynasty but he is not seeing enough work to trust in redraft leagues.
Pittsburgh Steelers rookie running back Anthony McFarland is active for Monday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals.
McFarland was a healthy inactive in Week 14 but will be active against the Bengals on Monday night. The rookie has yet to see over 20 percent of the snaps in any game this season and has yet to top seven touches. He is expected to earn a change of pace role eventually, but the promising rookie is off the fantasy radar barring an injury ahead of him.
Steelers RB Anthony McFarland is not active against the Buffalo Bills in Week 14.
With James Conner returning from the Reserve/COVID-19 list, McFarland is the odd man out in the Steelers backfield. Benny Snell will go back to backup duties, and McFarland will likely need an injury to suit up for Week 15.
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Anthony McFarland Jr. carried the ball four times for 15 yards in a 23-17 loss to Washington in Week 13.
McFarland actually led the team in rushing on an evening where the Steelers attempted 53 passes. The rookie running back may have a shot to leapfrog over Snell on the depth chart but the Steelers have been extremely pass-heavy of late and James Conner is expected back in Week 14.
