Antoine Winfield Jr.

Bucs standout rookie S Antoine Winfield Jr. will be ready to go Sunday vs. the Chiefs after missing the Championship game with an ankle injury.
Winfield has been limited all week to this point, but was quoted Thursday as saying "The ankle is feeling good, I'm gonna play the game, it's 100% go." This is good news for a Bucs secondary that will have to try to figure out how to contain Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce. Adding Winfield back to the lineup could help the Bucs keep the Chiefs from airing it out in Sunday's Super Bowl matchup.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have selected safety Antoine Winfield Jr. with the No. 45 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
While it is not another offensive weapon for Tom Brady, Winfield should help out a defensive secondary that struggled mightily in 2019. He can drop down into the box to play the run or stay with tight ends and running backs in the passing game.
DB Antoine Winfield Jr. has heard from the Vikings, Chiefs, Patriots, Titans and Buccaneers.
Winfield Jr. is the son of former NFL DB Antoine Winfield, and was a Big 10 defensive back of the year. He recorded 88 tackles and seven interceptions as a safety for the Golden Gophers in 2019. Winfield Jr.’s “hamstring and foot injuries are behind him,” and he is currently projected to be drafted in the second round in the latest mocks.
