Raiders RB coach Omar Young said RB Ashton Jeanty is doing all the right things to ensure he takes on a full-time role this season.

Jeanty recently stated he does not want to come off the field in 2026. Young noted specifically that Jeanty is currently refining his pass protection, receiving skills and ability “to make the simple plays in the run game.” "And those are the things he's been attacking," Young said. "It's been great to see his attitude and his effort of like, 'Hey man, I have to get in condition. I have to get in shape in order to do the things that I'm saying I want to do.' And he's been doing a great job of that, so it's been fun to see."

"If I don't have to, I don't want to come off the field," Jeanty said on his workload this season. He totaled 321 touches as a rookie with 266 carries and 55 receptions. He should only take a step forward in a new offense under Klint Kubiak.

Ashton Jeanty rushed for 87 yards on 26 carries in the Raiders 14-12 win over the Chiefs. He caught 3-of-5 targets for seven yards.

Jeanty continued to see a heavy dose of touches in the Raiders' offense that has struggled all season. The rookie will look to turn in a more productive season if the Raiders can improve the offensive line in the draft and free agency.

Ashton Jeanty ran for 60 yards on 16 carries in the Raiders 34-10 loss against the Giants. He also caught 2-of-2 targets for 13 yards receiving.

Jeanty got nothing going in the first half before he found some more room to run in the second half. He should play in Week 18 against the Chiefs to finish his rookie season.

Ashton Jeanty, who had been speculated to possibly sit against the Giants, is expected to play on Sunday according to Adam Schefter. The Raiders and Giants are vying for the top overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Jeanty is coming off Rookie of the Week honors after totaling 188 yards from scrimmage in last Sunday's narrow 23-21 loss to the Texans. He finished with 128 yards and a score on 24 carries and added one catch for a 60-yard touchdown. It was his second 100-yard rushing game of the year and he leads all rookies in rushing with 828 yards on the season. Jeanty has also chipped in 50 catches for 326 yards, leading all rookie running backs in receptions and ranking second in receiving yards. Start him as you normally would against a Giants team that has lost nine straight and allows a league-high 5.5 yards per carry.
