Week 14 Outlook
The Jets have signed K Austin Seibert to their active roster.
Seibert will take the place of injured kicker Greg Zuerlein, who has already been ruled out for Week 2. The former fifth-round pick appeared in three games with the Lions last season, converting on three of his five field goal attempts.
Austin Seibert was ruled out ahead of the Lions Week 4 matchup against the Seahawks.
Seibert missed practice all week prior to being ruled out. Dominik Eberle figures to step in off the Lions practice squad and start for the Lions this weekend.
Austin Seibert converted on 1-of-3 field goals while also converting on 3-of-3 on his extra point attempts for a total of six points en rout to a 28-24 Lions loss Sunday.
Seibert missed his first field goal attempts of the season on Sunday, with one being from 48 yards on the first drive of the game, and the second coming on a late game 54 yard attempt. The Lions kicker is not in a competition for his position on the roster, however Sunday was an indicator that he should not be streamed in fantasy, at least not yet.
Austin Seibert converted both FG attempts on Sunday, with his longest being of 48 yards. He also added four PAT's for a total of 10 points en rout to the Lions' 36-27 win over the Commanders.
Seibert was fantastic from a distance on Sunday as he nailed his longest kick of the season which was for 48 yards. The Lions kicker has 15 total points on the season which is good for 10th in the league. The 25-year-old is not a kicker who should currently be rostered but he can be considered if he continues to kick this well moving forward.
Austin Seibert converted all five of his extra point attempts in a Week 1 loss to Philadelphia.
Seibert did not attempt a field goal as the Lions’ offense was able to get the ball in the end zone five times Sunday. The 25-year-old has a career 82% field goal conversion rate, so his fantasy value moving forward will depend on how he produces there. If the Lions offense can continue to move the ball as they did in Week 1, Seibert will get his opportunities to put up points.
