Blaine Gabbert
QB - TB
Buccaneers QB Blaine Gabbert completed 9-of-15 passes for 143 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's Week 16 victory over the Lions.
Fantasy Impact
Gabbert played the entire second half with Tom Brady benched for playing too well. Really, he was benched because the Bucs had a commanding lead and Tampa Bay wanted to get Brady out of harm's way. Gabbert could see time in Week 17 against the Falcons depending on the playoff picture following the conclusion of Week 16.
Blaine Gabbert is signing a one-year deal with the Buccaneers.
Fantasy Impact
Gabbert will backup Tom Brady and is familiar with Bruce Arians offense. He spent the majority of 2019 on the injured reserve due to a shoulder injury. Gabbert is mainly a handcuff for Brady in two-quarterback league formats.
Blaine Gabbert (shoulder) will not return from injured reserve this season.
Fantasy Impact
Gabbert suffered the shoulder injury during the preseason and hasn’t played a single snap all year. He was placed on the injured reserve in September and has been ruled out the rest of the season. Jameis Winston will not have to look over his shoulder anymore and should have a long leash the rest of the year.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting Buccaneers QB Blaine Gabbert (shoulder) dislocated his non-throwing shoulder against the Browns on Friday night.
Fantasy Impact
The good news is that Gabbert's shoulder injury was to his non-throwing shoulder. And while he was spotted in a sling, he is not expected to be sidelined for an extended period. Ryan Griffin will take over as the QB2 until Gabbert is good to go.
Buccaneers QB Blaine Gabbert completed 6-of-8 passes for 50 yards in Friday's preseason loss to the Steelers.
Fantasy Impact
Although Ryan Griffin looked impressive, Gabbert is the favorite to open 2019 as the Tampa QB2.
