The Rams and veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner have agreed to terms on a five-year, $50 million contract.
The $50 million deal has incentives that could get it as high as $65 million. The 31-year-old will be entering his eleventh year in the NFL having played his entire career in Seattle. He joins a linebacker corps of Justin Hollins, Ernest Jones, and Leonard Floyd for the Super Bowl champs.
Bobby Wagner is reportedly visiting with the Rams and there is a mutual interest to get a deal done for both sides.
This would be a huge get for the Rams on their way to defending their Superbowl title. Wagner would bring some of the star-power left behind by Von Miller and the fit seems to be there. The veteran is still able to contribute a lot.
The Cowboys have contacted FA Bobby Wagner and expressed interest in bringing him to Dallas.
One particular draw is to play for DC Dan Quinn whom he played for in Seattle. It remains to be seen if the financials could work out, but the two have stated mutual interest and will remain in contact.
Bobby Wagner, recently released by the Seahawks, is drawing interest from the rest of the NFC West teams, according to Ian Rapoport. "There's already interest in Wagner, who was just released a couple of hours ago officially, from three teams that he played against twice a year while he was in Seattle," Rapoport said.
The addition of Wagner to any defense is impactful. Missing one game last season, the perennial All-Pro totaled 93 solo tackles, a sack, three QB hits, a forced fumble, an interception, and five passes defensed. Indeed, Wagner impacts the game in many facets. We'll have more on this as news develops.
Seahawks veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner has been informed by the team that they are releasing him.
Wagner, an eight-time All-Pro linebacker, was informed by Seattle that they are releasing him. This comes on the same day they traded away Russell Wilson, signifying the end of an era for the team. The 31-year old will have some decisions to make when it comes to retirement, but if he plans to keep playing, he will have a robust market in free agency.
