Availability
Braelon Allen (knee) will be out at least eight weeks.
Fantasy Impact
The news gets worse regarding Allen's prognosis after he was placed on IR earlier this week. The second-year running back suffered an MCL sprain while returning a kick this past Monday night in Miami, and it was announced Friday morning that he will be out of action for multiple months. Isaiah Davis will likely step into the top backup role behind starting RB Breece Hall for the Jets.
Braelon Allen (knee) is being placed on injured reserve and will be out for at least the next four weeks, although his absence is likely to extend beyond that.
Fantasy Impact
Allen recently suffered a knee injury of some kind. It is at least a mildly serious issue, as the team will be placing him on injured reserve because of it. He will have to remain sidelined for at least four weeks, but the team is expecting his absence to extend beyond that, although no official timetable has been determined. Breece Hall and Isaiah Davis are both primed to see a bigger share of the work in New York's backfield as a result of his extended absence.
New York Jets running back Braelon Allen is "likely" to land on injured reserve (IR) due to an MCL sprain he suffered in Week 4.
Fantasy Impact
Allen is expected to receive additional opinions before the Jets place him on IR, but if he does, he will be required to miss a minimum of four games. That would give him a timeline to return against the Cleveland Browns on Nov. 9. Allen has 76 rushing yards and one score this season. Breece Hall should continue to receive the majority of the snaps, and Isaiah Davis could have more action in Allen's stead.
Braelon Allen has been ruled out for the rest of Monday's game against the Dolphins.
Fantasy Impact
Allen suffered the injury on a kick return. He was quickly ruled out for the rest of the game. Isaiah Davis will continue to see more snaps behind Breece Hall.
Braelon Allen rushed for 30 yards on six carries in the Jets' 29-27 loss to Tampa Bay. He caught both of his targets for 17 yards.
Fantasy Impact
Allen turned in a better rushing performance than fellow running back Breece Hall Sunday. The Jets' coaching staff continues to split time between both running backs, making both backs tough to trust in a Week 4 matchup with Miami.
