Veteran punter Brett Kern announced his retirement on Thursday.

Kern played 16 seasons, 13 of them coming with the Titans. He was third in Tennessee history with 197 games played and led all Titans punters in total punts (923), gross punting average (45.9 yards), net punting average (40.8) and punts placed inside the 20 (373).

Brett Kern was released by the Titans Monday. He was in a training camp battle with undrafted rookie Ryan Stonehouse, who will take over the punting duties for the Titans.

Fantasy Impact

Kern was the longest tenured Titan, spending 13 years in Tennessee. The 36-year-old ranked 18th in average distance last season on 47 punts. Kern may not be out of work long if a team in need of a upgrade at punter wants to take a look at the three time Pro Bowler.
