Rypien was no longer needed with the Bengals acquiring veteran Joe Flacco earlier Tuesday in hopes of keeping the team in playoff contention until Joe Burrow (toe) returns from injury. The signal-caller will look to join another team in need of depth at the position.

The Bengals signed Mike White and Sean Clifford to their practice squad this morning in an effort to build QB depth, but Rypien will get first crack at backup duties. It makes sense since Rypien has been on the practice squad longer, but should he be needed, it’s likely not a good thing for the likes of Chase Brown, Ja’Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins’ fantasy values.
