The veteran tackle brings experience and skill to a position in football that is among the premium positions. He will look to keep one of Kyler Murray or JJ McCarthy upright this season as they try to battle their way back into the playoffs.
Brian O'Neill (heel) returned to Minnesota's practice in a limited fashion on Thursday.

O'Neill was able to make his return to the practice field on Thursday after being sidelined by a heel issue on Wednesday. He was still limited, however, and it's not yet clear if he will play in Week 16. Minnesota is dealing with several injured offensive linemen right now, so their front five may be weaker than usual this week.

O'Neill remains one of multiple offensive lineman for Minnesota banged up. He'll have to be monitored in practice throughout the rest of the week.

Minnesota's offensive line may be weaker than usual on Thursday night, as O'Neill and Christian Darrisaw (knee) are both considered questionable to play against the Chargers. If either of them are ruled out, that will negatively impact Carson Wentz and Jordan Mason in this matchup.
Brian O'Neill (knee) will not play in Week 5's matchup against the Browns.

O'Neill has not practiced all week due a sprained MCL, so he was obviously a very long shot to play in the first place. On a positive note, the Vikings have not decided to place the two-time Pro Bowler on IR.
