QB - San Francisco 49ers
Brock Purdy will sit on Sunday against the Rams.
With the 49ers' having clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC, Purdy will sit. He'll have two weeks off between Week 18 and the wildcard round of the playoffs. It will be Sam Darnold under center for San Francisco.
Brock Purdy completed 22-of-28 passes for 230 yards with two touchdowns in the 49ers' 27-10 win over the Commanders.
It was a nice bounce back performance for Purdy after throwing four interceptions last week against Baltimore. The 49ers' clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC, so we could see Sam Darnold play the majority of next week.
Brock Purdy is not on the injury report on Wednesday.
Purdy left Monday's game early with a stinger. He reportedly was cleared to return, but Kyle Shanahan decided to hold him out. He will look to bounce back on Sunday against a Commanders' defense allowing the most fantasy points in the league to the quarterback position.
49ers' coach Kyle Shanahan indicated he doesn’t believe the stinger issue for Brock Purdy will linger.
Shanahan added that Purdy potentially could have gone back in but Shanahan kept him out given the score and OL situation. His status will be something to monitor in practice this week.
Brock Purdy was taken to the medical tent in the fourth quarter of Monday's game against the Ravens.
Purdy was sacked on the play and got some medical attention immediately after before he jogged off to the field and into the medical tent. Sam Darnold entered the game in his absence.
