Bub Means
WR - New Orleans Saints
Availability
Bub Means caught 3-of-5 targets for 37 yards in Thursday's 33-10 loss to the Denver Broncos.
Fantasy Impact
Means was a relatively popular pickup off of the waiver wire this week with Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee) both out for the Saints, but he didn't deliver on a big performance. He had just three catches over the course of the night, and fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to be a very strong contributor for the foreseeable future.
Bub Means caught 5-of-8 passes for 45 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 51-27 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Fantasy Impact
Means had a good game on Sunday. He caught five passes over the course of the afternoon and turned one of them into a touchdown, and he was the one to benefit from Chris Olave (concussion) leaving the game early. It's possible that he will be worth a flier pickup if Olave is out for next Thursday night's game against the Broncos.
Saints WR Bub Means is officially inactive for a Week 3 matchup with the Eagles.
Fantasy Impact
Means will be a healthy scratch for Week 3. He has just one target through the first two games of the season.
New Orleans Saints rookie WR Bub Means is opening the year on the non-football injury (NFI) list, though it is not expected to sideline him for long and he could even return to action in time for training camp.
Fantasy Impact
Landing on the NFI list means that Means is working through an injury he may have suffered during offseason training or that could have been lingering from college. According to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football, Means' injury “isn’t considered to be serious,” and the rookie out of Pittsburgh is expected to take the team's annual conditioning test on July 23. The Saints open camp on July 24, and if Means performs well, he could even be activated just in time for Day 1 of practice. If he returns, the rookie could have a chance to find his way into the rotation of a talent-needy Saints receiving room.
The New Orleans Saints have selected WR Bub Means with the No. 170 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Impact
Means has the physical profile to play on the outside in the NFL but he didn't display the consistency to be a top-tier WR prospect. He was a solid athletic tester too, but he did not show up well in the shuttle drill. He'll serve as a depth option in New Orleans, who already has a rotation of WRs in Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, A.T. Perry, and Cedrick Wilson Jr.
