The Saints and Cameron Jordan have agreed to a two-year, $27.5M guaranteed contract extension that will have him in New Orleans through the 2025 season.
Fantasy Impact
Jordan secures a deal that carries the largest amount of guaranteed money for any defensive player of his age. The deal likely ensures that Jordan finishes out his career with the Saints. The 34-year-old tallied 8.5 sacks and 40 tackles in 16 games last season.
According to Nick Shook of nfl.com, New Orleans Saints DE Cameron Jordan says his goal is to take new QB Derek Carr back to Las Vegas on a Super Bowl run in 2023.
Fantasy Impact
The Saints are coming off a 7-10 season where they fell short of the postseason in large part to health and quarterback play. This last offseason, the Saints made a move to acquire Carr. Jordan says that his goal isn't to win 10 games but to win every game. New Orleans has been a roughly .500 team since Brees retired, under whom they won 10-plus games nine times. Carr reached that mark twice with the Raiders, most recently in 2021, and the Saints' sights are set high with him under center.
According to PFF's Ari Meirov, DE Cameron Jordan has been ruled out for Week 11 with an eye injury.
Fantasy Impact
Jordan's absence is a tough blow for the Saints' defense as they're set to face off with the Baltimore Ravens. Jordan has 42 tackles and 5.5 sacks, and the Saints will miss him as they're front seven will be tested by the Ravens' running game and QB Lamar Jackson's legs. DEs Carl Granderson and Tanoh Kpassagnon could see increased time in Jordan's absence.
Cameron Jordan feasted on the Falcons racking up four sacks and six total tackles (five solo) during Thursday’s 26-18 win over Atlanta.
Fantasy Impact
Jordan is currently leading all Saints and the NFL in sacks with 13.5 through Week 13. He also has 44 total tackles tied to his stat line. Start him every week as he looks to finish the regular season leading the NFL in sacks.
