QB - IND
Chad Kelly completed 13 of 16 passes for 138 yards and an interception in Thursday's preseason finale against the Bengals. He added 20 yards and a touchdown on three rushing attempts.
Kelly is trying to grab the backup role behind Jacoby Brissett and had a solid preseason which has helped his cause. The former seventh-round pick will miss the first two games of the season due to suspension but may move to second on the depth chart when he gets back.
Chad Kelly completed 16 of 21 passes for 209 yards, a touchdown and an interception in Saturday's 27-17 preseason loss to the Bears. He added 34 rushing yards on two carries.
With the retirement of Andrew Luck and Jacoby Brissett moving into the starting role it opens up the backup job at QB for the Colts. Kelly who is a former seventh-round pick is battling Phillip Walker and looks to be in the lead to take the role for the team.
Chad Kelly was 13-of-19 for 121 yards passing and also had four carries for 53 yards, including a 33-yard touchdown, in Thursday's preseason loss at Buffalo.
Kelly was released by the Broncos last season for off-field issues which have spilled over to this season as he will be suspended the first two games of the regular season relating to a trespassing charge. If Kelly does make the team he will be third on the depth chart and will not be worth owning in fantasy.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting the Broncos have released QB Chad Kelly on Wednesday.
While it was reported that Kelly was arrested for trespassing earlier in the week, more recent reports have surfaced stating that the young and troubled signal caller was allegedly involved in a physical altercation at a get-together at Von Miller's residence. Moreover, Miller's party reportedly had hired security whom "escorted" Kelly out. Although the first incident was bad enough, the second one likely sealed his fate.
Chad Kelly has been charged with first-degree criminal trespassing early Tuesday morning.
Kelly was making some waves in deeper or 2QB leagues as a potential replacement of Case Keenum. This would seem to throw a wet blanket on that hope for now. Considering the charges and the team's big win against Arizona, it's far from a sure thing that Kelly gets his shot in 2018.
