Week 10 Outlook
Availability
Veteran running back Charles Sims, who re-signed with the club this offseason, has been placed on injured reserve by the Tampa Bay Bucs. Sims apparently hurt his knee blocking on a kickoff return during Tampa's second preseason game. The injury wasn't believed to be serious at the time, so it's possible that Sims will be released and have a shot at joining another club. In 16 games last season, Sims only rushed for 95 yards and caught 35 passes.
Fantasy Impact
Sims has been phased out of Tampa's offense since he peaked in 2015. When healthy, he might be able to latch on to another squad as a reserve, change-of-pace option. His release is a good development for struggling rookie Ronald Jones, Jacquizz Rodgers, Dare Ogunbawale, and undrafted free agent Shaun Wilson.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat writer Greg Auman believes RB Charles Sims is on the roster bubble.
Fantasy Impact
Answering a question on his Twitter feed, Auman said that although the Buccaneers like him in his third-down role, Sims isn't a "lock" to make the final 53. Adding that if undrafted rookie Shaun Wilson "continues to impress he could edge or even Jacquizz Rodgers out for their spot on the depth chart. Even at his no-risk ADP, Sims is not worth rostering in season-long redraft leagues. He should only be considered in formats with deeper roster space.
Charles Sims had one carry for zero yards and caught his only target for 19 yards in the Buccaneers' 22-19 loss to the Panthers Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
Sims saw the same very limited work he has all season against Carolina. Fantasy owners can safely leave him off of their radar heading into the offseason.
Charles Sim had three rushes for 16 yards in the Buccaneers' 24-21 loss to the Lions Sunday. He added two receptions for 11 yards on three targets.
Fantasy Impact
Sims sees limited touches in an inconsistent Tampa Bay offense is not worth considering for the fantasy playoffs.
Charles Sims rushed three times for 16 yards in the Buccaneers' 26-20 overtime loss to the Packers Sunday. He added two catches for 35 yards on two targets.
Fantasy Impact
Sims was a complimentary back as usual Sunday as Peyton Barber carried the load against Green Bay. Sims is not worth a roster spot for the fantasy playoffs.
