Washington Football Team star DE Chase Young suffered a hip injury before the 2020 season. He also dealt with a groin injury in the season’s first month.
Young’s top priority is to enter the 2021 season fully healthy. He finished the 2020 regular season with 44 tackles, 7.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles across 15 games. The No. 2 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft is entering this upcoming season 100 percent healthy and will look to build on his rookie campaign. The Washington Football Team’s defense is currently fourth among all DST in the latest expert consensus draft rankings.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports Washington DL Chase Young suffered a mild ankle sprain on Saturday against the Bucs.
Rapoport adds that the ankle would've been "uncomfortable" this week had Washington won, but it isn't expected to be a big deal this offseason. Young looks positioned to win Defensive Rookie of the Year honors after racking up four forced fumbles and 7.5 sacks during the 2020 season.
Washington rookie DE Chase Young (groin) is officially active for Week 5 vs. the Rams.
Young missed Week 4 with a groin injury he sustained in Week 3, but he’ll be back with the Washington Football Team when they take on the Rams in Week 5. The pass-rushing menace has 2.5 sacks on the young season, and will look to wreck havoc for Jared Goff in the pocket on Sunday.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero is reporting Washington DL Chase Young (groin) is expected to play in Week 5.
Young missed last week's loss to the Ravens but is in line to play in Sunday's tough encounter with the Rams. He practiced this week which is a good sign for his Sunday playing status. Before suffering his groin injury, the outstanding rookie accumulated six tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble in three games. Young should be an impact player for the Football Team's defense if he is anywhere close to full strength.
DE Chase Young (groin) will practice Friday.
Young is at practice for the second time this week. He was ruled out in Sunday's Week 4 loss to the Ravens due to a groin injury. Young was limited on Thursday, but is trending in the right direction towards suiting up Week 5 against the Rams. Keep an eye on the injury report to see if Young is cleared for Sunday.
