Chicago Bears D/ST underwhelms in loss

Chicago Bears D/ST provided two fumble recoveries in the Bears’ 24-21 loss to the Raiders on Sunday.

Chicago Bears D/ST explodes with six sacks, two fumble recoveries in Week 4

The Chicago Bears' defense allowed just one touchdown in an impressive victory against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4. They had a stellar day on the defensive side of the ball that translated to the number three fantasy output of the week.

Fantasy Impact

The Chicago Bears D/ST was downright impressive in Week 4. They bottled up Dalvin Cook and forced Kirk Cousins to pass, a recipe that led to predictable results. The defensive unit notched six sacks, three forced fumbles, and two recoveries. The six sacks were a season high that the Bears will attempt to top in Oakland in Week 5.

Chicago Bears D/ST forces five turnovers, scores TD in rout

Chiacago Bears D/ST compiled four sacks, three interceptions, two fumble recoveries, and a defensive touchdown in the Bears’ 31-15 win over the Redskins on Monday.

Fantasy Impact

The Bears D/ST demolished a banged-up Redskins team, forcing five turnovers and scoring thanks to a HaHa Clinton-Dix pick six early in the game. The Bears have a much tougher task next week trying to shut down rushing leader Dalvin Cook and the Vikings.

The Chicago Bears defense gives up 372 total yards, 14 points in narrow win

While the Bears pulled out the victory, the vaunted Chicago Bears defense performed well below expectations in Week 2.

Fantasy Impact

The Chicago Bears defense could muster only two sacks and an interception in Week 2. Those are not disappointing numbers in a vacuum, but are just that when the opponent faced is added to the equation. They did put up five fantasy points, but that is likely a far cry from what owners were expecting of them. Better times seem to be just around the corner for this D/ST as the Bears have Washington up next on the schedule. Deploy them like you normally would for Week 3’s Monday Night Football. With that said, the Bears do have some tough matchups this season so do not be afraid to consider streaming options when necessary.

Matt Nagy wins Coach of the Year

Matt Nagy has been named the Associated Press 2018 coach of the year.

Fantasy Impact

His defensive coordinator Vic Fangio (now the Broncos head coach) won assistant of the year. Nagy led Chicago to 12 wins and a surprising division title in 2018 despite the limitations of quarterback Mitch Trubisky.
