C.J. Stroud
QB - Houston Texans
2024 Outlook
C.J. Stroud has won the 2023 Offensive Rookie of the Year. This is the second year in a row that a Buckeye has won the award after his former teammate, Garrett Wilson, won the award last season.
Fantasy Impact
Even with several strong candidates to compete with, such as the Rams Puca Nacua, Stroud came home with the prestigious award. He was 8th in the NFL in total passing yards and led the NFL in passing yards per game. His 1.0% interception rate was also the best in the NFL and he led the Texans to a playoff win in what was believed to be a rebuilding year. He has a bright future ahead of him and the Texans have found their franchise quarterback.
C.J. Stroud completed 20-of-26 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns in the Texans 23-19 win over the Colts.
Fantasy Impact
Stroud also rushed for 20 yards in the playoff clinching win Saturday. Stroud opened the game with a 75-yard touchdown strike to Nico Collins. The 22-year-old’s rookie season is not over as the Texans will head to playoffs under first year head coach DeMeco Ryans. Stroud finishes his rookie season with 23 touchdowns and five interceptions in 15 games.
C.J. Stroud completed 24-of-32 passes for 213 yards and one touchdown in the Texans’ 26-3 win over the Titans.
Fantasy Impact
Stroud also added four rushing yards in his return from a two-game absence. The rookie quarterback will need to turn in another solid performance against the Colts in Week 18 if the Texans hope to make the playoffs.
Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud is speaking with the media on Thursday, an indication he has been removed from the league's concussion protocol.
Fantasy Impact
It was reported earlier on Thursday that Stroud was in the final stage of the protocol, but he was able to graduate, setting himself up for a return in Week 17. Stroud also practiced on Wednesday, logging a limited session. He will likely return to face division rival Tennessee, a team they beat without Stroud under the veteran Case Keenum's guidance (1-1 in two starts).
Texas QB C.J. Stroud is currently in Stage 4 of the concussion protocol, which indicates he will practice in full today or tomorrow.
Fantasy Impact
Stroud was able to practice in a limited fashion Wednesday, but appears to be making progress in returning to game action. The rookie quarterback has missed the last two games but appears just one step away from returning against the Titans in Week 17.
