Veteran pass-rusher Connor Barwin signed a two-year contract with the New York Giants on Monday.
Fantasy Impact
The deal is reportedly worth up to $5 million. Since entering the league as a second-round pick of the Texans in 2009, Barwin has recorded 55.5 sacks, including five in 14 games for the Los Angeles Rams in 2017.
Connor Barwin recorded a sack on five total tackles (four solo) in the Rams' win over the Seahawks.
Fantasy Impact
Barwin recorded his first sack since Week 9 against the Seahawks and is up to five on the year. Unfortunately, Barwin doesn't hold much fantasy value.
The Los Angeles Rams signed former Philadelphia Eagles pass rusher Connor Barwin Thursday.
Fantasy Impact
After playing the last four seasons in Philadelphia, Barwin signed with the Rams Thursday. In Los Angeles, the 30-year-old pass rusher is reuniting with defensive coordinator, Wade Phillips, with whom he played for during their tenure together with the Texans. Although Barwin's production has regressed through the years, he should fit well in Phillips' highly successful system.
The Eagles have released pass-rusher Connor Barwin.
Fantasy Impact
This is big news in Philly as Barwin has been a foundation for them to build on. Depending on where Barwin goes will have an impact on his fantasy IDP value. If he ends up playing in the right system, Barwin should be able t0 maintain his value as a sack producing DE/LB. Barwin finished 2016 with 34 tackles, five sacks, and one forced fumble.
With the Eagles defense getting exposed on Sunday in a humiliating 45-17 home loss to Tampa Bay there was little to take from the game. Connor Barwin did have 6 tackles on the day with 1 TFL, and 2 pass defensed, and 2 QB hits. Although the numbers may look alright on paper the team was just going through the motions on defense in a brutal team loss.
Fantasy Impact
Barwin has never been much of an IDP option throughout his career and this 6 tackle performance was his highest on the season. He has just 3.5 sacks on the season as well and does not offer enough consistency to make him a reliable IDP option.
