Tank Carradine
LB -
2024 Outlook
The 49ers and Tank Carradine agreed to a contract extension that will keep him in red and gold through 2017.
Fantasy Impact
A good forward-thinking move for GM Trent Baalke. Carradine was a borderline bust before switching from DE to OLB, where he's played very well this preseason. The extension allows the 49ers extra time to negotiate a longer extension next offseason if Tank breaks out, like many suspect. Carradine won't get the tackle numbers to be worth it in LB leagues but in OLB leagues, he has some sleeper appeal.
Converted DE to OLB Tank Carradine had four total tackles, a sack and a forced fumble as the 49ers' down the Broncos.
Fantasy Impact
Carradine was a bust as a defensive end, and the 49ers' lightened him up and moved him to OLB. With Eli Harold getting banged up and Aaron Lynch getting popped for a four-game suspension, Carradine could factor big in the 49ers' first four games. If he flashes in the preseason, he's a hail mary play week one against the Rams.
Tank Carradine is among 49ers inactives Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
It has been reported that Carradine has slimmed down for a new role as an outside edge rusher for the beleaguered squad, but that won't start until next week.
Cornellius Carradine had back-to-back sacks in the 49ers' loss to the Seahawks Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
With Justin Smith saying this is probably his final ride, the future of the 49ers' defensive line is with Carradine. He, Aaron Lynch and Aldon Smith should produce fits for opposing offensive lines for years to come, making him an interesting fantasy option in 2015.
Tank Carradine is finally healthy in his sophomore season with the 49ers. Unfortunately the coaching staff says that Carradine is making too many mental mistakes and doesn't have their trust yet.
Fantasy Impact
With all of the injuries on the 49ers' defensive line, Carradine has the opportunity to shine. Unfortunately with all of the mental mistakes and not having the trust of the coaching staff, it's hard to trust him in IDP leagues as well. Steer clear of Carradine until he shows that he's worth a spot on your roster.
