Craig Reynolds
RB - Detroit Lions
This Week Outlook
Availability
Craig Reynolds (back) is active for Week 18 for the Detroit Lions against the Minnesota Vikings.
Fantasy Impact
Reynolds is good to go after being added to the injury report Friday with the back issue, operating as the No. 2 backfield option behind dynamic starting running back Jahmyr Gibbs against the Minnesota Vikings Sunday night.
Craig Reynolds carried the ball four times for 18 yards while also catching his only target for five yards in the Lions' 34-17 win over the Bears in Week 16.
Fantasy Impact
Reynolds was minimally involved in a Detroit offense without David Montgomery, finishing with less than 25 offensive yards in each of his games so far this season. The running back carries no value and be kept off rosters in all formats, with a Week 17 Monday night contest against the San Francisco 49ers up next.
Craig Reynolds carried the ball once for six yards in the Lions' 24-6 win over the Colts in Week 12.
Fantasy Impact
Reynolds has not been much of a factor out of the backfield, finishing with less than six carries in each of the last six games. The running back carries little value as long as the running back tandem of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery remains healthy, with a Week 13 Thanksgiving contest against the Chicago Bears up next.
The Detroit Lions have tendered RB Craig Reynolds, an exclusive-rights free agent, bringing him back for 2024.
Fantasy Impact
Reynolds ran for 179 yards and one TD in 2023, serving as a depth RB for the Lions' already deep RB room. The Lions are also bringing back RB Zonovan Knight, and the two may be competing for the RB3 role in 2024 behind RBs Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery. This will be Reynolds' fourth season with the Lions.
Craig Reynolds carried the ball 14 times for 74 yards and added a 12-yard catch while losing a fumble in a 26-14 win over the Raiders in Week 8.
Fantasy Impact
Reynolds looked solid in a backup role in the Monday night win, although his lost fumble was a costly one. Reynolds coughed up the ball on a second-and-goal carry from the Las Vegas four-yard line in the third quarter. The Lions will be on bye in Week 9 before they face the Chargers in Week 10. There's a possibility that David Montgomery (ribs) will be able to return to action by then, which would push Reynolds back into the RB3 role in Detroit.
