Dallas Cowboys
DST - DAL
This Week Outlook
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports the Cowboys are hiring Dan Quinn to be their new defensive coordinator.
Fantasy Impact
Dallas makes quick work in finding a new DC after relieving Mike Nolan of his duties just last week. The Cowboys' defense was a major problem in 2020 and allowed a franchise-record 473 points. Quinn's tenure as head coach of the Falcons wasn't perceived very positively over the past few seasons, but perhaps he'll find more success now that he's back in a coordinator role.
The Dallas Cowboys D/ST allowed 23 points on 336 total yards while recording two sacks, intercepting one pass, and recovering one fumble in Sunday's loss to the New York Giants.
Fantasy Impact
The Dallas Cowboys D/ST was one of the worst units in the NFL throughout the season, and a change at defensive coordinator is expected this offseason.
The Dallas Cowboys D/ST held the Philadelphia Eagles to 17 points on 477 total yards while recording three sacks, intercepting two passes, and recovering a fumble in a Week 16 win.
Fantasy Impact
The Cowboys D/ST allowed a quick 14 points to the Eagles in the first quarter but allowed just three points in the last three quarters combined as Dallas cruised to an easy win. The Cowboys face off against a Giants team that has struggled on offense for much of the season in Week 17.
The Dallas Cowboys D/ST allowed 33 points on 458 total yards while scoring a touchdown on an onside kick return, recording two sacks, recovering two fumbles, and intercepting two passes.
Fantasy Impact
The Dallas Cowboys D/ST had just three interceptions through the first 11 weeks of the season, but they have no intercepted four passes in their last four games. They have, however, allowed more than 30 points in three of their last four games as they continue to struggle overall. They will face off against an Eagles offense in Week 16 that has been rejuvenated by rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts.
The Cowboys D/ST only allowed seven points while recording two sacks, three fumble recoveries, and a touchdown Sunday vs. the Bengals.
Fantasy Impact
The Cowboys showed up and took care of business in Week 14. Tyrone Crawford led the team with two sacks, and Aldon Smith scooped up a fumble by Bengals RB Trayveon Williams and rumbled 78 yards for a TD. The Cowboys will finish up the fantasy year with the 49ers and Eagles, and better streaming options should be available on the waiver wire.
