WR - KC
Week 6 Outlook
Chiefs WR Demarcus Robinson catches two passes for 17 yards in Sunday's loss to the Chargers.
While Robinson remains a solid option in the NFL, he doesn't offer managers very much in terms of fantasy. Robinson's value is strictly injury-based at the moment.
Chiefs WR Demarcus Robinson catches three passes for 46 yards and a touchdown in Week 2's loss to the Ravens.
Mahomes really spread the ball around on Sunday night, and Robinson cashed in with a nice touchdown grab. Robinson isn't likely to see a major role every week unless injuries strike.
Demarcus Robinson appeared on NFL Network's Good Morning Football Thursday. The receiver expects more targets with Sammy Watkins now in Baltimore, saying, "I'm looking for the opportunity - not for them to give me the opportunity - but go in there and take the opportunity. Go in there and show that I am a guy who can put up 1,000 yards a year and 10 touchdowns. I'm ready to make that happen. They said they've got something in store for me. I'm ready to show them."
Robinson posted career highs last season. He totaled 45 receptions on 59 targets, 466 receiving yards, and three touchdowns. Although those numbers were career highs, they are nowhere near Robinson's lofty goals for this season. Sammy Watkins, however, vacates a 13.9% target share (5.5 targets per game) and Mecole Hardman hasn't lived up to his second-round draft pick expectation. So, Robinson's an intriguing dart throw late in fantasy drafts with a viable path to become the Chiefs' No. 2 receiver and third passing option in the pecking order behind Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill.
Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Chiefs have re-signed WR Demarcus Robinson to a one-year deal.
The details of the one-year contract are still unknown, but Robinson will remain in town with the Chiefs for at least one more year. Kansas City will likely lose veteran WR Sammy Watkins and missed out on free agents WR's like Juju Smith-Schuster and Josh Reynolds, so bringing back Robinson for depth makes sense. Robinson, 26-years old, started nine games in 2020 and finished with 35 receptions for 466 yards and three TD's.
Chiefs WR Demarcus Robinson has been cleared to resume practicing Friday.
Robinson was considered a close contact and placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday. He’s tested negative for COVID-19 everyday since being placed on the list. Robinson is expected to come off the reserve/COVID-19 list soon and trending in the right direction towards suiting up for the Super Bowl. The 26-year-old WR hauled in 45 receptions for 466 yards and three touchdowns across 16 games in 2020.
