Denzel Perryman
LB - LV
2022 Outlook
Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman sustained an injury to his LCL in Sunday’s win over the Raiders. In addition to the knee, he will also need surgery on his hamstring. His season is over.
Fantasy Impact
He finishes 2018 with 51 tackles and one interception in nine games. Perryman, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent in March, is expected to need three-to-four months for a full recovery. Jatavis Brown will likely move into Perryman’s spot in the middle while Uchenna Nwosu, Kyle Emanuel and Hayes Pullard will compete for additional snaps at outside linebacker.
Perryman (5'11/236) made 37 starts for Miami, recording 27 TFLs, 4.5 sacks, and seven forced fumbles. He was named to the third-team All-American squad his senior year. He ran a 4.78 forty, had a 32-inch vertical, and a 9-foot-5 broad jump.
Fantasy Impact
He is a thumper and could easily become a dominant run-stopper. His ability to defend the pass may be limited, however. His selection may be a reflection of how the Chargers feel about Manti Te'o.
