Week 2 Outlook
Derek Anderson (concussion) has been ruled out for the Bills' Week 10 game against the Jets.
Anderson still has not cleared the concussion protocol, so it will either be Nathan Peterman or Josh Allen under center on Sunday. Allen continues to progress from his elbow injury but with a bye in Week 11, the Bills would be smart to give him another few weeks. If Peterman is under center, the Jets D/ST will likely be the top play of the week.
Derek Anderson (concussion) has been ruled out for Buffalo's Week 9 game versus the Chicago Bears.
As expected. Nathan Peterman will draw the start at quarterback for the Bills, which makes the Chicago Bears D/ST an elite fantasy play in Week 9.
Derek Anderson is listed as questionable to play Week 9 as he recovers from a concussion.
The Bills have said that Nathan Peterman will start this week, but there is at least some uncertainty with Anderson questionable unless he would be Peterman's backup even if he's active. Owners considering either are likely only in deep 2QB leagues, as neither are fantasy relevant in 1QB leagues.
Derek Anderson completed 22-of-39 pass attempts for 290 yards and one interception (a pick-six) in the Bills' Week 8 loss to the Patriots. He rushed once for a 1-yard loss and fumbled once in the game, too. Anderson also left the game right before the final whistle, and his status is unknown at this point.
Anderson was signed off the street -- what did we expect? He has very little to work with in terms of supporting cast and he's a low-end QB to begin with. Expect Anderson to put up low fantasy totals in most weeks, and don't even consider starting him in basically any format except 2QB leagues. Nathan Peterman would likely get the start if Anderson misses the next game.
Derek Anderson was limited by back and calf injuries on Thursday.
Anderson is expected to remain under center with Josh Allen out with an injury of his own, but anyone considering him for fantasy purposes will need to monitor these ailments. Given the game is on Monday, Buffalo is likely limiting the veteran's reps ahead of their showdown with the Patriots. Anderson is not much of an option despite a decent matchup with New England.
