DT - GB
The Packers and rookie DT Devonte Wyatt have agreed to terms on a four-year, fully guaranteed contract.
The deal is worth $12.86 million, which includes a $6.53 million signing bonus. Wyatt is the only interior defensive lineman in the class to rank top-6 in both PFF run and pass-rush grades last season. His true pass-rush grade ranked first on the Georgia defense. Green Bay selected him with the 28th overall pick.
The Green Bay Packers have selected defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The Green Bay Packers added an impressive defensive tackle in Georgia’s Devonte Wyatt. Scheme versatile with the ability to be an impact defender against both the run and the pass, Wyatt is a perfect addition to the Packers front seven. A pressure-creating disruptor, Wyatt’s presence should help create more room for the likes of Rashan Gary and Preston Smith. Wyatt has the makings of a future DT1/DL2 but will likely take some time to get there. His on-field impact will be more significant than his fantasy contributions for the first couple of seasons. Wyatt will play some nose and defensive end in the Packers' odd front.
