D.J. Reed Jr.
CB - New York Jets
2024 Outlook
Jets CB D.J. Reed Jr. has cleared concussion protocol and is expected to play Sunday against the Giants.
Fantasy Impact
Reed has missed two consecutive games due to a concussion, but has been cleared to make his return after having extra rest with the bye week. His return will help bolster the Jets’ pass defense in a plus matchup against Tyrod Taylor and the Giants.
D.J. Reed Jr. (concussion) will not play in Week 5's matchup with the Broncos.
Fantasy Impact
Reed has been out of practice all week due to a concussion. Bryce Hall is most likely to step into the void in the Jets' secondary.
D.J. Reed Jr. has signed a three-year deal worth $33 million with the New York Jets.
Fantasy Impact
Reed will be playing under new Jets head coach Robert Saleh who he played under during his time in San Francisco prior to Seattle. The Jets likely won't be done addressing the secondary this offseason, but Reed is certainly a quality addition as he played well in Seattle.
D.J. Reed is out for the 2020 season with a torn pectoral muscle.
Fantasy Impact
Mostly a special teams CB and FS in the nickel, Reed will have to wait another season to break out from a backup role. Given the recovery timeline of the injury, 49ers' general manager John Lynch stated, "[It's] ultimately, too difficult to keep a roster spot for something that might go into December." Emmanuel Moseley's fantasy stock slightly climbs as a result of Reed's absence, but there is plenty of depth at DB in the late rounds of your fantasy drafts.
Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports that 49ers DB D.J. Reed has sustained a torn pectoral.
Fantasy Impact
Reed mostly played on special teams in 2019 but did mix in for a handful of defensive snaps here and there. He will likely be sidelined for two months with this injury, which puts his Week 1 status up in the air.
