RB - HOU
Week 17 Outlook
Houston Texans RB/returner Dontrell Hilliard has re-signed a one-year, $1.25 million deal with $200,000 guaranteed to return to the team in 2021.
Hilliard spent time with the Cleveland Browns and the Houston Texans in 2020, primarily functioning as the kick returner after arriving in Houston. He has blazing speed and could work up to a hybrid offensive role similar to his usage in Cleveland, where Hilliard totaled nine carries for 48 yards.
Cleveland Browns running back Dontrell Hilliard carried the ball four times for 29 yards in a 38-7 loss to the Steelers in Week 6.
Hilliard got all of his touches after the Browns threw in the towel in the fourth quarter. The young runner is not a fantasy option heading into Week 7 against the Bengals.
Dontrell Hilliard signs one-year tender with the Browns.
Hilliard played on special teams mostly the last two seasons. He will compete for a reserve spot on the RB depth chart with D’Ernest Johnson and Benny Lemay. Hilliard logged 13 carries for 92 yards and two touchdowns across 14 games in 2019. The 25-year-old RB doesn’t hold much fantasy value.
Cleveland Browns running back Dontrell Hilliard carried the ball five times for eight yards and added two catches for six yards in a 24-19 loss to the Broncos in Week 9.
Hilliard mostly mixed in on passing downs in the loss. The young back has been decent for the Browns but he see his role scaled back when Kareem Hunt returns for Cleveland's Week 10 game against the Bills.
Cleveland Browns running back Dontrell Hilliard carried the ball once for 10 yards and added four catches for 24 yards in a 27-13 loss to the Patriots in Week 8.
Hilliard finished fourth on the team in receiving. The running back will lose his role once Kareem Hunt is reinstated from his suspension in Week 10.
