E.J. Perry

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, former USFL QB E.J. Perry is signing with the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Impact

Perry, a two-time All-Ivy League First Team QB at Brown, went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft. He had stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Texans, never making the active rosters, before joining the USFL in 2023. Though he only started one game for the Michigan Panthers, he's getting a second stint with the Texans. Behind rookie QB C.J. Stroud are Davis Mills and Case Keenum, a group of veterans that will be tough to beat out for a job for Perry.

Fantasy Impact

Perry returns to the Jags and provides depth behind Trevor Lawrence and C.J. Beathard. Perry received high marks at the 2022 NFL Combine, but did not get drafted.

E.J. Perry completed 19-of-37 passes for 201 yards while throwing one touchdown pass and two interceptions. Perry also ran the ball twice for 10 yards in Jacksonville’s 28-12 preseason loss in Atlanta on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact

Trevor Lawrence didn't dress and C.J. Beathard only available in an emergency so it was Perry's game, start to finish. This game was mainly for Perry to procure game film to help catch on somewhere, but outside of his touchdown to Laquon Treadwell, Perry didn’t much on Saturday. He did show some mobility on a seven yard run. Perry could end up on Jacksonville's (or some other team’s) practice squad but is irrelevant for fantasy purposes right now.

Agent Sean Stellato has announced QB EJ Perry is planning to sign with Jacksonville instead of Philadelphia, as previously reported.

Fantasy Impact

The former Brown standout completed 296 of 445 passes with 23 TDs and 14 interceptions in 2021 for the school. He also added seven rushing TDs. Perry will compete with CJ Beathard and Jake Luton for a backup position behind Trevor Lawrence.

Brown quarterback EJ Perry has agreed to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles as an UDFA.

Fantasy Impact

The Eagles have been active in the UDFA quarterback market, bring in Perry as well as Nevada quarterback Carson Strong, who received a sizeable deal. The team will look to have some competition for some roster spots, and those two are poised to duke it out in the offseason programs. Strong projects to be the better prospect, but Perry will have a fair shot at competing for a spot on the roster.
