The Giants are reportedly moving on from Eli Penny and heading in a different direction at the fullback position, according to Patricia Traina and confirmed by Penny himself.

Penny played four seasons in New York, appearing in 61 games, tallying 178 rushing yards and scoring once. He is an experienced pass catcher and caught 9 of 13 passes last season for for 30 yards and another TD.

Penny had just eight carries through the first six games of the season coming into Sunday, but the Giants opted to give him some additional work alongside Devontae Booker with Saquon Barkley sidelined once again. However, he only managed 24 yards on his nine carries and was not targeted in the passing game.

With Saquon Barkley and Wayne Gallman missing Thursday's game, Penny split time with Jon Hilliman in the backfield. And while neither back had much success, it was Hilliman who saw the majority of the opportunities on Thursday.
