Eric Reid ejected for hit on Ben Roethlisberger Thursday Week 10

Carolina Panthers strong safety Eric Reid was ejected from Thursday night's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a hit on quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. It could be questionable if the hit was intentional but on a Thursday night nationally televised contest a statement was made by the officiating crew sending Reid to the locker room. The situation was escalated when Roethlisberger's offensive lineman immediately tried to take the matter in hand by engaging Reid after the play. In the end, Reid did approach Roethlisberger to seemingly express that the hit was not on purpose.

Fantasy Impact

For Reid's IDP owners in fantasy leagues, it was disappointing, to say the least. But in terms of production Reid was leading the team in statistics with nine combined tackles at that point. And that six solo tackles and three assists remained a team-leading effort when the game had ended. After a few weeks in a row of above-average production and Reid complete acceleration into the Carolina defense, Reid has firmly become a great option as a defensive back for IDP owners to consider each week.

Eric Reid records sack in Week Eight win over Baltimore

Carolina strong safety Eric Reid recorded seven combined tackles, one tackle for a loss as well as the sack in Sunday's contest.

Fantasy Impact

Reid has firmly put himself on IDP owners radars with three solid outings in a row since joining Carolina. Reid does hold some past injury history and lapses in production at times. But at this point, his potential may be well worth the risk each week for the rest of the season.

Eric Reid stands out in win over Philadelphia in Seven Win

Carolina strong safety Eric Reid stood out in the win over Philadephia Week Seven recording a stat line of eight combined tackles.

Fantasy Impact

This contest may have now put Reid on IDP owners list of viable plays going forward if he has returned to being in "game" shape. He was just signed recently by Carolina and it was a matter of some time before we seen a strong outing from the veteran.

Eric Reid records five combined tackles in second game with Panthers

SS Eric Reid picked up four solo tackles and one assisted tackle in the Carolina Panthers' Week 6 loss against the Washington Redskins.

Fantasy Impact

Reid is a much better box safety than the Panthers' other options at the position. He's a sneaky add who might start putting up big tackle numbers once he gets warmed up. Until he gets hurt, that is.

Eric Reid on the Titans radar

According to John Glennon of the Tennessean, the Titans are interested in having Eric Reid in for a visit after the loss of Johnathan Cyprien (ACL). Kenny Vaccaro has already been scheduled to come in so it would seem that Tenessee is urgently trying to fill the hole that Cyprien (ACL) has left behind.

Fantasy Impact

Whether it is Eric Reid or Johnathon Cyprien that may be signed, whoever the player would be, if a known veteran, could have an immediate impact on the team. Tennessee is not exactly deep at the safety position and IDP owners should monitor the situation as it develops.
