LB - SF
49ers linebacker Fred Warner signs a five-year $95 million extension with $40.5 million guaranteed.
This deal makes Warner the highest-paid inside linebacker in the NFL. The 24-year-old all-pro is a dynamic and versatile linebacker that you can build your defence around. He was drafted in the third round as a developmental player, but his work ethic and football mind allowed him to excel from day one. It's an easy decision to give this deal to Warner, who looks to help the 49ers remain a top defence after the departure of DC Robert Saleh.
The San Francisco 49ers have activated LB Fred Warner from the COVID-19 list.
This is good news for Warner as it means there is an excellent chance he'll suit up in his Week 1 bout against the Arizona Cardinals. Since the 49ers play in the afternoon on Sunday, it might be a good idea for IDP owners to have a backup plan just in case. If Warner plays on Sunday, he's in for a significant workload against Arizona's up-tempo offense.
The 49ers placed linebacker Fred Warner on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
It doesn't mean that Warner has tested positive, but it means he has at least come in contact with someone who did. A key member of San Francisco's defense, it's certainly concerning this happened with just 10 days to go before the start of the regular season. More should be known in the coming days.
Fred Warner finished Saturday’s 34-31 win with 11 tackles (eight solo), and an interception that was taken to the house.
Warner leads all 49ers in tackles with 115 through Week 16. The San Francisco LB should be owned in all dynasty leagues and started as a solid LB1.
